Burning Steel Wallpaper Teaser

This is a teaser image I did for a project that we are working on called "Burning Steel".  It's a side project that is being done under Get Job and will be posted up here at some undetermined date.  The story involves a reckless cop trying to get the job done with little regard to the limits of the law.  He's trying to clean up a city where the stains are drugs, corrupt cops, and a whole lot of illegal action.  Stay tuned!

Since DJ is still out enjoying his Thanksgiving vacation it was up to me to handle the art for today.  For this, I sincerely apologize haha.  He's much better at this cartoon thing that I am but I figured I would give it a shot.  I really had l lot of fun working on this one though and I'm sure there will be more in the future.  My alternative idea was to post a cute picture of a kitten saying "Oops!"  Anyway DJ will be back next week and he'll be bringing the heat with his hot draws!  Until then I hope you like the wallpaper :).

A Contrast in Thanksgivings

It's that special day and DJ is now with his family enjoying a lovely thanksgiving... leaving me all to myself and my own strange pass times.  Pass times that apparently involve me commanding my own army of superhero vigilantes... toy vigilantes.

In all seriousness we are both well taken care of on this lovely day of thanks.  DJ heads home or to a close relatives for a good meal and quality time with his family.  Iowa is a bit far for a 1 day trip so I don't get to see my actual relatives (who I miss) but I am incredibly fortunate to have a San Francisco family that opens their home to me on this day for some quality time as well.  We are lucky people and for that we are thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

A Wizards Duel

With the recent release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows we thought it appropriate to do a comic on the subject.  DJ saw the film and I've heard nothing but good things about it so I'll have to make it my mission to go see it sometime soon.  I really did always find it weird that Voldemort didn't have a nose.  Something young Potter could use to his advantage perhaps?

DJ and I braved the thunder and lighting of San Francisco's Saturday evening to go and pick up a copy of Fable 3.   He seems to be really enjoying it since I haven't seen him do anything other than play it this weekend.  It's given me the chance to hear about all of the goings on of the game and what it's story has to offer as well as DJ's fairly constant verbal updates on the game play and new abilities.  The characters in the game seem really rich and the story seems to be a lot stronger than the games before it.  Not to mention the great soundtrack and design of the game.  The mood and depth of the world make me think this game was a blast to work on.  I'm really looking forward to seeing how this one ends up.

Funday Monday,

The Third Roomate: The Reveal

Dennis, our third.  I'm not sure what it would be like to live with DJ and myself and observe our "behaviors" from an outside perspective.  I know at one point Dennis had brought up the idea of writing memoirs documenting his time living with us elegantly titled, "From Beyond the Curtain."  It's a sweet name and makes reference to the fact that instead of a door on our room we have a makeshift curtain (for privacy of course).   However, whether he has started these or not I'm unsure.  Regardless he's a good guy and I am constantly impressed by his willingness to continue living with us.

A nice morning in San Francisco today... happy Monday.

Fort Madness!

Honestly, I haven't built a fort in a while.  It's something DJ and myself did when we had bunk beds, which we haven't had in a while    But they are fun to build and as a child I remember thinking that with enough cereal boxes, I could be commander of an impenetrable fort.  And, as any good fort builder knows, you really can't use cereal boxes for a roof.  It wouldn't work.  There's no interlocking going on with those things!

Sometimes DJ and I do weird things when one of us is gone.  We kind of balance each other out and when one of us is missing, things get a little different around the apartment.  Sometimes our priorities shift and we resort to odd behavior to try and fill the void of a missing companion.  It's like having only one hand and not getting a cool robotic one to replace the one that just got cut off.  I don't want to give away any surprises but, expect to see more examples in the future.

I actually remember having a small tee-pee that I could set up and sit it.  Thinking of it now, I have no idea where that went or where it came from for that matter.  I really liked it though.

Alright, good Monday everyone,

The Light Bulb Is Off

We don't always know what to make a comic about.  Once, when we were stuck, Dj suggested that we do a comic about Ewoks.  When I asked him why his reply was simply, "Ewoks... you know, they're pretty funny."  After some back and forth we came up with this. It's fun to see how true to life a lot of these comics are.  Obviously we weren't on the forest moon of Endor, but the first two panels are pretty accurate to how we got this one.

I'll take any reason to be Han Solo.  "Chewie! Take the Professor in back and plug him into the hyperdrive!"

Have a nice Monday everyone.
